Lighthouse is a Residential Design firm that strives to make our clients’ design and build experience inspired, collaborative and valued.
We believe that key to a design and its successful execution is an engaged, collaborative effort from initial meeting through house warming.
You have a vision of how you hope to use the spaces in the home that you wish to build. To achieve that vision we reflect it back to you in ways that you can provide feedback and say, ‘yeah, that’s it!’ or ‘I was expecting something a little different, could we change that space?’ or even ‘what were you thinking?!’.
Sometimes design concepts achieve your vision quickly, often it takes a few iterations, always, we work with you until we hit the 'yeah, that's it!' mark.
Founded Lighthouse in 2001 after graduating from SAIT's Architectural Technology program and some post grad mentoring at a couple of design firms. He also holds an undergrad degree from UBC. With his roll of sketch paper, markers and day timer under his arm, Mark drives the design side of our clients’ projects. An incredible listener and a knack for understanding what people say, he impresses clients with design iterations building on the ideas they bring forth. An eye for design, an artist at heart and a natural collaborator, he helps us deliver a great design experience. Never wins most productive employee of the month but wins our clients' choice every year.
Jay joined Lighthouse in 2005 after graduating from Algonquin College's Architectural Technology program. Copilot on projects from concept through construction, he drives design and detail. Hours of heads down, intensely focused production wins him most productive employee every month. All while never grumbling or complaining (this part may not be 100% accurate). Making their job so much easier, builders and construction managers marvel at his drawings. Sleeps with an edition of the building code as his stuffy. We never judge.
My vision for Lighthouse is that we attract clients with exciting projects and who are great to work with.
Scott joined Lighthouse in 2017. A recovering accountant, he likes systems, analysis and spreadsheets just a little too much. The rest of the team smile politely and pretend that they are really really helpful. Scott drives everything, not design, that it takes to run Lighthouse.
My vision for Lighthouse is that it’s an incredible workplace where we produce great design. That we create designs where clients enjoy their homes as they had imagined.
